Last year when we introduced our new small-batch artisan pumpkin sauce, we had no idea it would take off the way it did — in fact, we had to scramble for more pumpkins to fill the orders!
An incredible blend of slow-roasted pumpkin simmered with real cream, roasted chicken stock, white wine, caramelized onion, Parmigiano Reggiano®, a hint of nutmeg and a dash of apple juice, we knew it was marvelous over cheese-filled pasta. What we didn’t know was how good it would be as an ingredient in other dishes — amazingly versatile.
But our Chefs did! From the moment we introduced it, they began experimenting and came up with some wonderful new recipes that they sampled in our stores to rave reviews.
And you knew it, too! We got so many posts and comments about how you used our sauce, we were overwhelmed with the response. Customers were stocking up on it, buying it as gifts. It was tremendous!
“The flavors of this sauce really celebrate the fall season. You can add it to almost anything for a touch of autumn flare,” says Andrew Cosentino, Market District Brand Manager. “My favorite recipe last year was the Pumpkin Sauce with Cheese Ravioli, Dried Cranberries & Granny Smith Apples, but this new Pumpkin Apple Bisque is hard to beat!”
“I can’t wait to make the Pumpkin Beef Stew recipe,” agrees Associate Brand Manager Kelly Mitchell, who assures us that though supplies will be limited, she hopes to keep the sauce stocked through November.
