Asian Style Barbecue Baby Back Ribs

Directions:

Make rub by combining brown sugar, salt, ginger, garlic powder, mustard and five spice powder in a medium mixing bowl. Rub the ribs generously with this mixture, making sure to coat all of the ribs completely.

Make the sauce by whisking all sauce ingredients in a medium mixing bowl.

When ready to cook, heat the oven to 325°F. Place two large sheets of foil on a baking tray and place the ribs on top. Bring the ends of the foil together to seal the ribs into a packet, then just before sealing shut pour in the beer. Make sure the foil packet is completely sealed.

Bake for 1½-2 hours, or until the ribs are tender when poked with a fork and internal temperature reaches a minimum of 145°F as measured by a probe thermometer.

To finish, carefully remove the ribs from the foil packet and place directly on the baking sheet. Set the oven to broil, then generously glaze the ribs on each side with the sauce.

Set under broiler for 2-3 minutes or until the glaze is set (you can repeat this step as desired if you like additional layers of glaze), then allow to rest for 5 minutes.

Drizzle with additional sauce, and sprinkle with scallions and sesame seeds to garnish.
