Grilled Angel Food Cake with Peppered Berries

Place sugar and cornstarch in a saucepan. Stir in the water and vinegar until well blended. Gently stir in the blueberries. Bring mixture to a boil for 1 minute while stirring constantly to prevent lumps; reduce to simmer and cook for another minute. Remove from heat and transfer to bowl; cool slightly. Add in the raspberries and pepper; gently toss to coat evenly.
Spray the grate of an outdoor grill or grill pan with cooking spray*; preheat to medium (300-350°F). Grill the angel food cake slices about 1 minute per side, or until golden brown and grill marks appear.
To serve, spoon the berry mixture over each slice of cake, and top each with a dollop of light whipped topping, if desired.
*Never spray a lit grill directly with cooking spray.
